RECUMBENT TRIKES CANADA is an ORILLIA dealer for CATRIKES.
This is our 6th year of operation as a small, home-based, enthusiast-run retirement business. Our aim is to introduce interested people to the strengths and benefits of riding recumbent trikes, particularly Catrikes.

Developed in Winter Garden Florida, Catrikes have been refined over the years into a great recumbent trike.

Our Canadian prices are $300. more - sorry!

Catrikes, and other quality trikes, offer a comfortable ride, much like pedalling a 27 speed chaise lounge.
Handling is very good in all models and exceptional in such trikes as the Speed and 700.
They feel like a cross between a great handling sports car, and a go-cart. They offer the life enhancing benefits of exercise, mobility, fresh air, and fun... all at the same time!

Are they really as comfortable as they look?
Once set up properly, I get the feeling that I could ride all day in comfort. In fact, I have done so, many times.

Four times I've participated in the National 24 Hour Challenge, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I've never gone less than 250 miles in a day. My best is 280 miles in a 24 hour period.

Compared to the 'real' athletes, that is not very good, but for someone past his mid 60s who doesn't train regularly and is not a serious athlete, I think it's respectable.

I wouldn't consider trying it on anything but a recumbent. My wrists, neck, bottom, back would never tolerate a ride of that length and intensity without pain.
On a trike - no problem!

My personal best in Calvin's Challenge was 185 miles in 12 hours. Enough to take some pride in, but not much compared to the real athletes. Some cycles & events from 2005 & 2006 - click.

Back in 2001, I rode a recumbent trike from Orillia, Ontario to Charlottetown, PEI. carrying my tent, camping gear and much of my food and supplies with me. It was a comfortable 20 day ride and on the trike it was a pain-free experience.

The most rewarding part of selling Catrikes is seeing what they can do for some people
who otherwise would have to give up cycling altogether due to a variety of challenges.

People who suffer from debilitating strokes, dizziness, and various injuries, have often found that they can return to the pleasure and therapeutic exercise that cycling provides, through a recumbent trike.
Here is a story of an injured Canadian Peacekeeper whose life was changed by a Catrike!

Trikes can also be adapted to people with limited use of either hand or foot by moving shifters and/or brake control to the strong side.

Whatever your reason - pure fun - exercise - or therapy - if you think a Catrike might work for you, arrange a test ride. See if it might be the answer you've been seeking.

SPRING is COMING !!!
